Summary: Democrats in the Senate have blocked a Republican backed bill that would finance the Department of Homeland Security. The Department's funding will run out next month. Another bill, passed by the House, would have revoked the President's executive actions on immigration. Obama says he will veto any legislation that undermines his executive actions. Republicans blamed Democrats for the vote, which ended in a 51-48 in favor of blocking it from coming to Senate floor. Republicans POV is simple; “If they’re going to dig their heels in and say, ‘We’re going to refuse to fund the Department of Homeland Security,’ I think they’re going to be held accountable for that,” said Senator John Cornyn.
