1/5 Senate fails to override Obama Veto

FOX News Article

Summary: President Obama recently used his Constitutional veto power on the Keystone XL pipeline bill. Republicans in Congress were sure that they had enough votes to over rule his veto; however they are wrong. Wednesday, the Senate failed to overturn his veto. The 62-37 vote was only five votes short of passing. A North Dakota senator said that it the vote didn't turn out positive, that they would attach it to another bill and get it passed. Most members of the Republicans and a fair majority of Democrats are for the bi-partisan backed bill. Obama says that this XL pipeline will contribute to global warming and greenhouse gases.
